History of the hall

The Mirboo North Shire Hall, built in 1938, replaced the original Mechanics Institute, which had been the town’s social hub since 1886 and hosted key events like political meetings and church services.

As the town grew, the council replaced the old building with a new Classical Revival-style hall, designed by AC Leith & Bartlett, marking Mirboo North’s development during the interwar period.
